Description
A 1- Day course Blended Learning course designed for learners wishing to gain the knowledge and skills that are required to enable them to provide effective emergency paediatric first aid.
You will be taught how to assess and react appropriately to an emergency situation, such as a child or infant who is unresponsive, has an airway obstruction, has breathing difficulties or is suffering from shock.
The qualification is valid for a period of 3-years.
Assessed by a small amount of knowledge being completed via distance learning on our learning portal, then coming into the centre to complete a small multi-choice examination and some practical demonstrations.
Topics covered include:
- Understand the Roles and Responsibilities of a Paediatric First Aider.
- Be able to Assess and Emergency Situation Safely.
- Be able to Provide First Aid for an Infant and a Child who are Un - Responsive.
- Be able to Provide First Aid for an Infant and a Child who are Choking.
- Be able to Provide First Aid to an Infant and a Child with External Bleeding.
- Know how to Provide First Aid to an Infant and a Child who is Suffering from Shock.
- Know how to Provide First Aid to an Infant and a Child with Bites, Stings and Minor Injuries.
Prerequisites
Must be aged 16 or over on the date of certification, and must hold a good standard of English.
